Sailing is a fantastic sport. If you have made it as far as this page then it has already piqued your interest and if you are looking to learn in mid-Wales you have reached the right place. In Aberdovey it is hard to book a sailing lesson in the same way that you can when you are on holiday, but it is still possible to learn and joining the Dovey Yacht Club is an important first step. Please take a look at the calendar
for training sessions and why not get in touch if you are interested.
We have a fleet of club boats which members are free to use and once you are up and running it may well be worth considering buying your own boat. Boats are often bought and sold within the club and there is always advice on hand to help you acquire your new pride and joy.
We are looking forward to a very busy 2014 at the Dovey Yacht Club and it all kicks off Sat 5th April with the Spring Cup. During Easter there will be sailing courses and powerboat training. Friday evening social sailing, starting 25th April, open to everyone, all abilities, where you can practice some skills, do some fun racing, go for a gentle sail or a blast! This year we will be running level 3 training and assessment during these sessions.
In addition to sailing courses we will be running Power Boat level 2, Safety Boat and 1st Aid courses for club volunteers, dates TBA. These courses are offered to encourage more members to help with the running of the club, and will therefore be heavily subsidised. If you think you can help out more this year and would like to take one of these courses then please let us know.
If you are planning on attending any of the events or have any questions then please see the information link. Easter courses need to be booked with deposit paid by 8th March.
Look forward to seeing you on the water,
