Topper Week 2022

Round up

Last week saw another successful Topper Open Week on the Dyfi Estuary, with around 30 children taking part each day.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Fleet all experienced highly competitive racing in challenging tidal and wind conditions. Jasper Focardi Dolling took home the Gold Fleet trophy with an impressive score sheet, but congratulations must go to all the sailors who took part. There were very high rates of development across all levels, and everyone should be very proud of their performance throughout.

After winning Topper Week in 2016, Ed Crossley has run the event every year, with help from his family and recently Team Caldwell. Thanks must go to him for giving up so much time for the development of Topper Sailing in Aberdyfi, as he leaves us to join the RAF.

On Topper Week this year, Ed said: “I think it is great to see a new generation of sailors coming in and falling in love with Aberdyfi and sailing. I know from experience that Topper Week plays a huge part in this, and it would not be possible without the help of those that make it happen, both on the beach and on the water.
